Tasting note

2014 difficult year: it was necessary to remove grapes that were not ripe enough. After this sacrifice, the bunches of Cabernet Sauvignon that we keep offered usvisual, olfactory and gustatory sensations that few terroirs in the world are able to produce.
• Black ruby color with a shiny disc.
• A nose where notes of fresh blackcurrant, blueberries and candied cherries
mingle with a background of spices and incense.
• On the palate, it is the sweetness that surprises: no harshness, no bitterness, no
astringency to disturb the tasting. A velvety sensation, but not lacking in intensity,
and which remains for a long time in an almost pastry sensation.

It already has all the finesse of the Cabernet Sauvignon of a Lafite Rothschild, and
the warmth of the Pinot Noir of a Richebourg. When the terroir dominates the grape
variety in this way and leaves its mark, we are in the presence of an exceptional wine.

Tasting note

Cabernet Sauvignon in its full strength, opulence and density, would have been an
organic exaggeration without the expression of the terroir that finally melted the
tannins, leaving them delicately perceptible, without harshness, without bitterness.
The velvety texture that characterises this insolently elegant wine is there again.
• Garnet black color.
• Nose of candied red fruits marinated in spices, a touch of cedarwood, a touch of
cloves and a light perfume of violet that announces itself without imposing.
• The attack on the palate recognizes the myriad flavors that the nose had detected.
It is pure elegance that lasts on the palate for a long time. Another symbol of distinction

This wine offers a magnificent aromatic range.
Induced by a silky texture and subtle tannins, this allows the taster to say : “if Petrus was a Cabernet Sauvignon, it would be a Piedra Sagrada of this vintage”.

Advice

Ageing potential : 15 - 20 years
Drinking from 2021
Apogee: 2025/2030

Tasting note

2016 was a year with torrential rains during the harvest. We remove almost all the bunches, keeping only the grapes from one of our 7 micro-plots.
• Bright ruby color that sparkles and reflects light like a precious jewel.
• Extraordinary nose that evokes the fragrances of a Richebourg, the cherry and
raspberry brandy of the Case Basse de Soldera, the Asili Cru in Barbaresco de
Giacosa, the bouquet slightly marked by roasting notes of the Château Cheval Blanc
in Saint-Emilion (1964), but perhaps even more the pastry violet of Château Margaux 1990.
• The palate is like the nose: velvety, smooth, without lacking fullness or
persistence. A flourish of complex flavors that evolve throughout the tasting.

A voluptuous wine that has slowly fixed and metabolized the many facets of its
Mothe Earth during 42 months of aging in new barrels (80%). A remarkable wine
that is admirably tasted today and will undoubtedly delight the gourmet for the next
decade. A wine that will surprise those who have certainties about Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting note

A solar vintage. Here again a drastic selection, we made very little wine, but in this blend, we were able to use the grapes of our 7 micro-plots.
• A deep ruby color.
• A nose of blueberries and blackcurrants cooked in a cauldron; Behind these fruity notes, a delicate bouquet comes to question our olfactory epithelium, spices, incense, essences of rare woods and a note of aged rum.
• On the palate, it is pure elegance, smooth, without harshness or hardness, the tannins are fine, flexible and well mixed.
No brutality or bitterness, but silkiness and softness that stays in the mouth for a long
time.

A top-of-the-range wine in an intimate register, as one would say of a Beethoven string quartet.

Tasting note

Vintage 2018 is a tribute to Arturo Pérez Rojas, creator of Piedra Sagrada. A great bottle for cellaring, a classic in straightness, in the purest line of Cabernet Sauvignon.
• A bright color, iridescent, Burmese ruby full of fire.
• The nose is already very expressive, although it was not until 2022 that the complex bouquet fully surrendered to the delicate nose of big bottle enthusiasts. Spices, black fruits, a touch of nougat and a note of fiery raspberry water distinguish
this new vintage.
• On the palate, nuances. and subtleties of an almost sweet fruity flavour; Softness and roundness without ever lacking intensity.

An immediate pleasure that reveals all its different facets over the course of almost three hours of tasting. The unique spectacle of a great terroir wine that is only given to a true palate; to the one who knows how to analyze the pleasure of what he is tasting.
